After consulting with EMA and multiple weather outlets, Chambers County Schools will close on Friday, January 10. While forecasts can never be certain, it is vital that our decision is made to protect the safety and well-being of each student. We will reopen on Monday, January 13 with our regular schedule & dress code. Stay safe & warm. Thank you – Sharon Weldon

Good evening Parents,
I wanted to remind you that students will be allowed to wear sweatshirts or sweaters & school-approved jeans (w/out rips or tears) for tomorrow. Dress them warmly & in layers.
I also wanted to let you know that a decision will be made regarding the weather on Friday & announced early tomorrow. Stay warm, Dr. Sharon Weldon

Chambers County Schools, in collaboration with the Chambers County Emergency Management Agency (CCEMA), is closely monitoring the potential for winter weather on Friday. We will be posting an update tomorrow morning. Please be prepared for the possibility of adjustments to the school schedule on Friday.

The school system currently has not had internet all day. This also has affected the phone lines. If you attempted to email a transportation change to Ms. Thrower or your child's teacher, please know that this has not been received. Please verify that your child's teacher knows how your child is getting home if they have had a change for today.

We enjoyed seeing our Fairfax Hornets back on campus today. Here are a few reminders as we start the second semester:
- Please remember that you can upload an excuse using our online link or send it in directly with your child. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSevBF89wV1Uvzk70kCyq294H8t8aIrBLKZ4CTjhH6N3_6gi8g/viewform?usp=sf_link
- All transportation changes MUST be made in writing. Please do NOT make a change to your child's transportation after 2:00pm. We want to ensure we have time to get notice to everyone and make sure everyone goes home correctly.
- Remember that students are counted tardy if they are not in class by 7:45. We get started with high quality instruction at 8:00, so this ensures that your child has time to get unpacked and ready to begin the day without being rushed.
- Report Cards come out on Thursday.
- Cups brought to school need to only carry water. These cups also need to be cups with lids that close completely. Cups with straws sticking out are not allowed. These cause unnecessary spills throughout the buildings.
- Please review out uniform expectations from CCSD regarding shirt colors, uniform bottoms, and jackets.
We appreciate your time with helping make 2025 successful for everyone! Please feel free to reach out with any questions are concerns.

The Chambers County School District proudly welcomes Dr. Sharon Weldon on her first official day as Superintendent. In the 2024 election, she successfully defeated both independent and Democratic candidates to secure this elected position for the county. We are thrilled about her return to the central office and look forward to her leadership as we continue cultivating learners and producing graduates who will positively impact the world.
