The CCSD would like to thank our newest partners in education sponsors for the 2025-26 school year with Interface Inc & Walmart Distribution Center committing to support our students & staff in Chambers County. Interface rep, Mrs. Susan Lewis has agreed to serve as a Platinum Level Sponsor with the support of renovations being made at LaFayette High School & W.F. Burns Middle School. Walmart will be serving as a Silver Level Sponsor with a donation of 96 magnetic dry erase whiteboards for staff & $500.00 for professional development. Wednesday, Assistant Superintendent, David Owen picked up a pallet of whiteboards from Susie & Mark at Walmart & selected samples of carpet & hardwood laminate from Susan Lewis & the Interface team. Owen was assisted by Guardian Angels, LaGrange PD Officer Chris Luttrell & a GA CSX Railroad employee named Robert when the CCSD trailer jumped off the truck into a ditch on the roadside. The pair used a trackhoe to reestablish the load attaching it back to the hitch to deliver the whiteboards back to schools in Chambers County. It marked Mr. Owen's last day of his 39 years prior to beginning his retirement. He is thankful for both Robert & Officer Luttrell for making his last day a memorable one with their call to go above and beyond. Owen would also like to thank the newest partners in education sponsors in Interface & Walmart coming together to support the CCSD in the coming school year. Owen asks all students and parents to remember our staff next week for Teacher Appreciation Week with a note or email of encouragement.
